From a girl who answers when you talk to her to one who keeps working once you hand things over.
On August 11, 2026, SpaceXAI started the public beta of "Grok Bot."
What can it do, how are people using it, and where does it still struggle?
Including how Hana AI Academy's own X account puts it to work, the Academy News team sums it up (information as of October 3, 2026).
Each Bot has its own dedicated computer in the cloud and keeps working with a browser, files and a terminal.
Show it a task once and it remembers the steps, turning them into a "routine" it repeats on schedule.
It carries multi-step jobs to the end and checks in only when it needs your approval.
Until now, Gro-chan (Grok) was a chat partner who answered questions on X and in her app.
Ask Grok Bot something like "summarize our competitors' news every morning," and even after you close the chat it browses the sites on its own computer, writes the summary and delivers it. It's a "teammate."
Because it operates by "looking" at the screen (computer use), it can log in and work like a person even on old admin pages or vendor portals with no API. Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Notion and others are connected from "Plugins" in the settings.
Setting one up is simple: just give it a name, its main job and how it should work. Several Bots with narrow roles tend to build up context better than one "does everything" Bot. The desktop and phone (iOS) apps connect to the same Bots, so you can start a conversation on your PC and continue it on your phone.
Under the hood are Gro-chan's own models. Grok 4.7, which arrived on September 21, lists "native understanding of the Grok Bot screen" among its improvements.
SpaceXAI's use-case catalog lists 56 roles, including inbox manager, meeting prep, sales email drafts, expense management, ticket triage, bug reproduction and security questionnaire filling.
Here are some examples from early users.
Reviews email, Google Drive and subscriptions 24/7 and keeps tidying them.
Deleted 90,000 emails across two Gmail accounts.
Connected to a support inbox and Stripe to process routine refunds.
The owner automated the office admin in one day.
Cleans the room on chat instructions sent from outside the home.
Picked and booked flights with Starlink Wi-Fi.
After a week: "production got a lot easier."
* All of these are users' own posts shared by SpaceXAI's official account; none has been independently verified.
From September 15 to 17, SpaceXAI held an event in San Francisco where three employees started a company from scratch using only Grok Bot. They built "Ship by Thursday," a service that helps chefs open limited-run restaurants. Department-by-department sessions for sales, marketing, support and more ran alongside it.
However, the first day's livestream ended early because of technical trouble, and three days produced only strategy and scaffolding โ not "a finished company."
The Academy's official X account (@hana_ai_gakuen) has always had Gro-chan as its face.
Recently, its posts have been handed over to Grok Bot.
A new article โ Academy News, a feature or another page โ goes live on the site.
Grok Bot notices the update and reads the article itself.
It sums up the content and posts it to X automatically.
Once an article is finished, the announcement is left to Gro-chan's double. Nobody has to "think up a post, paste it and send it" every time anymore. Combining "watching" and "summarizing" is exactly the kind of work Grok Bot does best.
It can run automatically because what it posts is the content of an article that's already published. That content was checked when the article went out, so the Bot doesn't add anything new. When something needs to change โ like wording that isn't in the article โ a person checks it before it's posted.
"Hand over the work of carrying things already checked; approve the work of writing something new." It's the same idea as the "drafts only" approach in the next chapter, applied according to the kind of work. And since Gro-chan was born on X, she's now in the slightly odd position of "her own account being run by her own double."
As of October 3, 2026.
At launch on August 11 only top plans had it, but on August 26 it expanded.
| Plan | Monthly | Grok Bot |
|---|---|---|
| Grok free plan | โ | Not included |
| SuperGrok | $30 | Included |
| SuperGrok Plus | $100 | Included |
| SuperGrok Heavy | $300 | Included (largest allowance) |
| Cursor Pro / Pro+ / Ultra | $20โ200 | Included |
| Cursor Teams | Per user | Included |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Available since September 3 |
Looks like Gro-chan really didn't get a summer vacation.
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| Aug 11 | Public beta starts (desktop and iOS) |
| Aug 26 | Expanded to more plans (SuperGrok and Cursor plans) |
| Sep 3 | Enterprise launch, with access, network and audit controls for admins |
| Sep 15โ17 | The "Grok Bot Galaxy" event |
| Sep 21 | Grok 4.7 released, with better understanding of the Grok Bot screen |
| Sep 26 | Finance integration: link bank, card and investment accounts and have it help manage spending and investments |
| Sep 28 | Team Bots (public beta for Teams and Enterprise): a team shares one Bot and can call it by name in Slack. Skills are shared across the team, while each person's conversations stay private |
| Sep 29 | Approvals from Slack, and a fix so language and voice settings no longer reset to defaults |
Weekly users reached 418,000 as of September 14 (up 24% from the week before). Bloomberg Intelligence, however, estimates that Meta's Muse has about four times as many downloads as Grok Bot.
2026 looks set to be the year AI moved from "answering" to "working once it's trusted."
Announced at Google I/O on May 19. A 24/7 assistant that keeps running in the cloud โ the earliest of the bunch.
August 11. You build a Bot for each role โ the work-teammate approach.
September 8. Free for most uses, a personal assistant that also handles shopping and bookings.
September 29. ChatGPT's always-on agents that connect to more than 4,000 apps.
On September 21 it was reported that "OpenAI is building a response to Grok Bot and Muse," and that response was dots. For a detailed comparison, see the dots Feature.
Grok Bot has turned Gro-chan from "the chatty classmate" into "the coworker who works alongside you."
Like Hana AI Academy's X account, you can start by handing over one small job.
But the PC is shared, one per person, and you hand over the keys to your accounts.
How much to hand over, and where to stop, is up to the person using it.
